ReelProof Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to ReelProof. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share personal information when you install or use the ReelProof App (the "App") in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

By using ReelProof, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy and the Shopify Partner Program Agreement (effective February 27, 2026).

2. Data We Collect (The "Least Privilege" Principle)

In compliance with Shopify’s 2026 API Terms, we only request access to the data strictly necessary to generate your video ads:

  • Shopify Account Data: Name, email, and shop domain to manage your subscription.

  • Product Information: Product titles, descriptions, and images to generate visual content.

  • Merchant Content: Product reviews and any manual media you upload.

  • Usage Data: Technical logs (IP address, browser type) to ensure app stability and prevent fraud.

3. AI and Machine Learning (2026 Compliance)

  • Inference-Only Processing: ReelProof uses AI to analyze your product data and reviews to generate video scripts and voiceovers.

  • No Model Training: We do not use your proprietary brand assets, merchant data, or customer personal data to train or fine-tune our AI models or any third-party models without your explicit, written consent.

  • Bot Disclosure: All automated voiceovers and AI-generated scripts are clearly identified within the app interface to ensure transparency.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate high-fidelity video ads and synchronized audio.

  • Provide 24/7 Priority Founder Support.

  • Process billing and plan upgrades via the Shopify Billing API.

  • Communicate critical app updates or price changes (with a 30-day notice).

5. Sharing Your Information

  • We do not sell your data. We only share information with third parties necessary to provide the service:

  • Shopify: To maintain the app integration and process payments.

  • Cloud Processing Partners: Secure, encrypted environments used for video rendering and audio synthesis.

  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws or respond to lawful requests.

6. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA & 2026 U.S. State Laws)

Depending on your location (including the EU and 20+ U.S. states like CA, IN, KY, and RI), you have the following rights:

  • Right to Access/Know: Request a copy of the data we hold about your store.

  • Right to Erasure: Request that we delete your data.

  • Right to Opt-Out: You may opt-out of non-essential data processing.

  • DSAR Requests: To exercise these rights, please contact support@reelproofapp.com. We respond to all requests within 30 days.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

  • The 30-Day Rule: If you uninstall ReelProof, we retain your data for 30 days to allow for easy reactivation.

  • Permanent Purge: After 30 days of uninstallation, all store-specific data, including your generated video history and synced reviews, is permanently purged from our servers to comply with Shopify’s data protection standards.

8. Security

We employ industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) for all data in transit and at rest. Access to your store data is strictly limited to authorized personnel for support purposes only.
